Empower Your Thumbs

We believe everyone should know how to grow their own food. Here is our open-source guide to farming at home.

Universal Satvic Method

Every microgreen page has a specific quick guide, but this universal method works for almost all varieties (Mud or Hydroponic).

1
Prepare the Medium

Choose clean trays. Use sterile cocopeat or a hydroponic fiber mat. Ensure drainage holes are present.

2
Sow & Mist

Pre-soak seeds if required (e.g., peas, sunflower). Rinse thoroughly. Sow densely and evenly. Mist to moisten; avoid waterlogging.

3
Blackout Period

Cover and keep in darkness for 1–2 days. This mimics being underground and forces strong stem growth (skip for Basil).

4
Light & Air

Move to indirect light once leaves emerge. Maintain good airflow to prevent mold.

5
Harvest

Harvest between day 6–14 using clean scissors. Rinse gently, dry, and refrigerate in breathable boxes.

Pro Tip: The Wellness Trio

For diabetes care & heart health, try growing and mixing Pea Shoots + Sunflower + Methi. Serve in a bowl with a dash of lemon and toasted sesame seeds.
